Controller General of NCOS Tasks Officers on Innovation and Transparency
The Acting Controller General of Nigeria Correctional Service, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, has charged Officers of the Service on the importance of Innovation, transparency and teamwork.
Addressing Heads of Directorate at the Service Headquarters, Abuja, Nwakuche said the service could only witness a pivotal moment through teamwork.
Galaxy Television reports that the Acting CGC emphasized the importance of teamwork, transparency, and innovation in tackling the multifaceted challenges faced by the Service.
He pledged to build on existing reforms while introducing fresh strategies aimed at improving inmate rehabilitation, addressing overcrowding, and enhancing the welfare of correctional officers.
The Acting CGC said that the goal is to transform the Service into a model of excellence that prioritizes security, reformation, and the reintegration of offenders, which can only be achieved through collaboration, accountability, and the collective dedication of all stakeholders.
He further called on all officers to remain committed to their duties and assured them of his unwavering support in fostering a secure and humane correctional system.
The meeting provided a platform for Directorate Heads to share insights, challenges and present updates on ongoing projects. Directorate Heads expressed their support for the Acting CGC’s vision, highlighting their readiness to align their efforts with his leadership priorities.
